Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Uninvited

Into this world, this demented inn
in which there is absolutely no room for him at all,
Christ comes uninvited.

This world seems like such a dark place right now
Filled with hate and anger
With war and the rumors of war
With almost wars

Filled with greed and a lust for power
As those who are rich
Have no trouble at all, at all
Using their power on their own behalf
To become richer

It seems like such an ugly place
Where people use God, rather than follow God
And seek to create a theocracy in God’s name
While holding vast to values, beliefs, and behaviors that violate God

In this world people are excluded
Reviled
Harassed
Attacked
Because they are not white
Not Christian
Not straight

People are treated like second class citizens
Worse, as if they are barely people at all
Nothing more than statistics, inconveniences

The world, this demented inn is full
Ever inch crammed with things that are
“not Sacred”

Yet still
In corners here and there
The light shines
And in the most unlikely places
The unexpected and uninvited one
Is birthed
And so too
hope
