Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Lent 23 - unlikely heroes

From the very beginning, God is able to use unlikely figures, and in one
way or another, they are always unable, inept, unprepared, and incapable.
                                                                                                Richard Rohr

When I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)

the Sacred always works
with the material at hand

the tone deaf
the one who insists
“I just can’t speak in front of people”

the accountant
the bookkeeper
the machinist

even the “preacher”

unlikely heroes of the faith
who because
they simply love God
and love others

touch hearts
feed the hungry
comfort the lonely
and heal souls
