I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Where do we find the divine
“I looked in temples, churches, and mosques. But I
found the Divine within my heart.”

People fear the church is shrinking
It is
Mainline, conservative
doesn’t matter
less people find church
the place to find God
why?
not so complex really
at least from where I stand
halfway between the church
and a mental health clinic
I hear every day
about how the church has hurt people
they don’t say that
not directly
they are not blaming the church
but the thoughts the church has planted in their
minds
the damage to their souls
is evident
because the church has been about rules
and laws
and earning God’s favor
and fear
and guilt
and so much that is not Jesus
but is instead the same Pharisaical
crap that ultimately sent Jesus to the cross
Do this
Don’t do that
Are you in
Are out out
Turn or Burn
God hates this
God hates that
God hates you (ultimately)
If you were to die today where would you spend
eternity
It is already in side you
the gift
the secret
the mystery
it is already inside you
the presence
the Christ
God loves you
God is present in you
You and God
Are “like this”
Believe it
Live it
And yes, church CAN BE
A place where this is taught and experienced
Yes it can
