I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Say "yes" (Please?)
“I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping
greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything
which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.”
― E.E. Cummings
___________________________________________
we live in a world familiar with “no”
we say no to so many things
no, to so many things bright and good,
and honorable and sacred
we would rather live our lives
polarized
screaming at each other
than saying “yes” to the other
“yes I hear you”
“yes I respect you”
“yes I will listen to you”
“yes I will work with you”
Instead we say “no”
and saying no
we close the door
to progress
to solutions
to hope
to reconciliation, and forgiveness
and above all
we say no to love
and we slowly shrink
become smaller and smaller
our hearts, our souls fade
and our eyes can no longer see
who we are
who they are
we can no longer see
“the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue
dream of sky
and everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is
yes.”
O Lord forgive me
for the any times
I get pulled into the abyss
and say
“no”
