Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

A rain prayer

long hot day
cars rolling down gravel roads
dust billowing
floating

an earth made shades of brown

the air heavy
burdened by dust
and smoke
and more

the sun beating down
relentlessly on
flowers
and trees
coated and wilting
sad

then comes the rain
life from heaven
you can smell it as it nears
and then huge drops fall
stirring the dust at first
then calming it

still the rain comes
a deluge

washing
renewing
lightning and thunder
the music of renewal
until

in the morning
all creation glitters
as the sun
now breaking through the clouds
captures the
droplets of life still clinging to the trees

the world is green once more
and the air
ah
fresh and new

Lord
pour out your Spirit
like life giving rain
on our burdened wilted souls

restore
the joy of our creation
