Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Sacred Wounds

all wounds are  potentially sacred wounds. It depends on what you do with them. Can you find God in them or not?
                Richard Rohr
Things happen
life happens we make mistakes we get ill people do things that hurt us
Things happen and our lives are not what we thought they we would
and so we suffer
what is suffering?
suffering is “not being in control” (Rohr)
suffering is “the gap between what we think we want and need and what we have” (Germer)
whatever it is
suffering is real
God does not create suffering
we do
but the God within is willing be with us in our suffering
the God within is willing to partner with us
that we might transform our suffering the sacred within is willing to love us, love us some more guide and nudge us the way out of suffering is not an easy one 40 years in the desert Stumbling in the valley of the shadow of death
But transformation is possible
out of all things good can come out of all things good can come out of all things good can come
(do I believe it yet?)
_______________________________________________-
Lord from ourselves deliver us
Lord from our suffering deliver us
Lord walk with us
In our suffering help us learn about ourselves
help us find you
help us transform our suffering into a sacred wound
that can bring the deepest kind of healing
to ourselves and those around us
do with our woundedness
what you did with the cross
